Whenever flight irregularities occur, the primary aim of Iraqi Airways is to ensure that our customers are comfortable and are carried to their destinations with the smallest amount of delay. Unfortunately, no airline is exempted from experiencing a delay from time to time. This may be caused by a wide variety of reasons including; technical, operational and Air Traffic Control restrictions. It is therefore essential that all efforts be used to compensate our customers for any inconvenience caused by rendering the best possible service and assistance to each customer At times during technical delays, it is not always possible to determine the exact duration of the delay in question. In line with Iraqi Airways principal policy of ensuring that the safety, comfort and well being of all our passengers and crew are paramount at all times, Iraqi Airways will never give the go-ahead for an aircraft to depart unless we are 100% satisfied, and assured that the aircraft airworthiness has been checked and re-checked several times over.
We make every effort to practice the following guidelines when handling customers on delayed flights:
Customers are advised immediately when it is known that a flight will be delayed, prior to the scheduled departure time.
Customers are notified promptly of the reason for the delay.
Customers are advised individually before the general announcement regarding the delay is made over the public address system.
Customers are fully informed of any and/or all arrangements being made for them.
Customers' contact addresses/telephone numbers are taken and recorded whenever they leave the airport in connection with prolonged delays. You are asked to assist us by ensuring we receive this information.
